About Katrina Strand
Born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, I now call Whistler my home. I spent 20 years traveling the globe as a professional mountain bike athlete and brand ambassador – I have represented Canada at the Downhill World Championships, been in countless ad campaigns and magazine articles and played a pivotal role with the introduction of women’s specific mountain bike events. In addition, I have an established reputation as a world renowned mountain bike coach and have contributed to the success of many mountain bike riders and athletes.
After obtaining my degree in Human Kinetics at the University of British Columbia and getting my Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, I began training recreational, elite and aspiring athletes of all disciplines.
In November 2017, baby Anna joined the world, and I quickly realized the lack of support and information available for pregnant and postpartum women who want to maintain or resume fitness on any level. Shortly after. upon researching support for perimenopausal and menopausal women, I discovered that the resources available were even fewer and far between. After obtaining several certifications related to women's health and fitness, I continue to educate myself and now have a particular interest in helping and training these populations as they navigate their journeys.
All my services go far beyond trainer, coach, or instructor. I come in as mentor and educator with a purpose to empower with hope, confidence, and resilience. The learning experiences – be it training, coaching, or instructing - aim to build up your tool kit outside of the physical, and tap into the power that exists within you to succeed in the gym, on the bike and in life.
